Shadowing Programme

Have you completed BDS and are not sure of how to do procedures ?

If you have completed your BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) and you feel like you are in the wrong profession, it’s important to carefully consider your options before making any decisions. Here are some steps you can take to help you figure out your next steps:

  1. Reflect on Your Interests and Passions: Take some time to reflect on what truly interests and excites you. Think about the activities you enjoy doing in your free time, subjects you are curious about, and any hobbies or interests you have that could potentially lead to a new career path.
  2. Explore Alternative Career Paths: Research different career options that align with your interests and skills. You can consider fields that are related to dentistry, such as public health, healthcare administration, medical writing, medical sales, or teaching. You could also explore completely different fields that you are passionate about.
  3. Seek Guidance: Consider speaking with a career counselor, mentor, or professional who can provide guidance and support as you navigate this decision-making process. They can help you explore different career options and provide insights based on your skills and interests.
  4. Gain Experience: If you are considering a career change, gaining some experience in the field you are interested in can be helpful. This could involve volunteering, interning, or taking on part-time work to get a better understanding of what the new career path entails.
  5. Further Education or Training: Depending on the career path you choose, you may need to pursue further education or training. This could involve taking courses, obtaining certifications, or pursuing a higher degree to transition into a new field.
  6. Network: Connect with professionals in the industries you are interested in to learn more about their career paths and gain insights into potential opportunities. Networking can also help you discover hidden job openings and learn about different career paths.
  7. Take Your Time: It’s important to remember that finding the right career path can take time. Be patient with yourself as you explore different options and make decisions about your future.

Remember, it’s never too late to make a career change if you feel like you are in the wrong profession. Take the time to explore your options, seek guidance, and make a plan for transitioning into a career that aligns with your passions and interests.

I am scared to do a patient as there was very less patient flow in my college….

It’s never too late to switch careers because life is too short to spend even a single day doing something joyless. Even if — yes, ironically — getting to a new and joyful place might be very hard. But you know that!
